A leading global provider of business intelligence, data, analytics and events for private markets professionals is looking for an experienced Senior Real Estate Reporter to join its New York-based editorial team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a financial journalist with a strong track record in original reporting, an established network of senior industry contacts, and ideally an understanding of the real estate investment and private markets sectors.
The company publishes a portfolio of specialist publications covering different investment verticals. In this role, you will join a talented team of editors and reporters producing a mix of breaking and daily news, original reporting, and regular in-depth deep-dive stories for an audience of private markets professionals.
The role will combine news reporting with longer-form journalism, giving you the opportunity to develop original stories that go beyond the headlines and provide readers with deeper insight into the people, strategies, trends and deals shaping the real estate investment market.
Key responsibilities
As Senior Real Estate Reporter, you will:
- Report on real estate investment, private equity and institutional investing.
- Produce a mix of daily news stories, original reporting and regular in-depth deep dives.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive network of senior industry contacts.
- Conduct interviews with senior executives across institutional investors, private equity firms, real estate funds and other investment organisations.
- Break original news and uncover market intelligence through strong source development and investigative reporting.
- Produce deeper, analytical stories that examine market trends, investment strategies, major deals and developments across the real estate sector.
- Analyse trends across asset allocation, fund strategy, fundraising, transactions and major real estate deals.
- Work closely with editors and fellow reporters to develop compelling stories and coverage that delivers value to subscribers.
About you
You will be an experienced financial or business journalist with a proven background in real estate reporting, investment journalism or private markets coverage. You should have a strong network of industry contacts and be confident speaking with senior figures across the investment community.
Experience covering real estate funds, private equity, institutional investors, asset allocation, fund strategy or real estate transactions would be highly relevant.
You should be comfortable working across different forms of journalism — from breaking news and exclusive stories to detailed features and deep-dive investigations. The ideal candidate will combine excellent reporting and writing skills with strong market knowledge, curiosity and the ability to develop trusted relationships with senior sources.
