This is an excellent opportunity for a news focused financial journalist to join a growing company, reporting on deal financing opportunities across power, oil & gas and renewables. The core of the role involves breaking news on financing deals for M&A, asset sales and project finance, plus writing about key people moves. As a reporter you will engage with contacts at commercial and investment banks, private equity funds, infrastructure funds, law firms and energy companies, in order to break news on companies and funds seeking finance for projects or acquisitions, mergers and the sale of assets, both buy-side and sell-side. This is not a role where you can aggregate news from online sources, you will be speaking with contacts on a daily basis to report on the latest developments. Along with producing scoops on new situations you will also write follow-up stories, tracking the progress of deals and looking at any important changes. This will suit a highly sociable journalist who loves to spend time on the phone or meeting with contacts and digging up news before the competition. You must have some understanding of how deals are structured as you will be writing for an investor audience, and stories need to include key facts and data to give the reader enough detail to help the decision-making process. This is a fully remote role.
