My client is a major financial publisher, and they are looking for a talented individual to run their ESG Bank ranking programme. The head of ESG is responsible for determining the criteria that ranks banks according to their commitment to and advancement of the ESG agenda. They view this through a variety of different lenses – it could be a new innovative sustainable bond, a ground-breaking financial inclusion partnership and/or work the banks and its own employees do in their own communities. Presently their ESG awards/rankings are very subjective but highly valued. The aim is to leverage the access (and ideally data) that these banks uniquely provide to build more quantitative & qualitative benchmarking products.
As head of ESG you will work closely with the research team, who process each bank’s submission, helping to set the criteria by which banks are ranked and refine the process. Along with this you will also use your editorial skills to write content that enhances the credibility of the benchmarking business and help drive subscription revenues. This is also an ambassadorial role so you will regularly meet with banks to discuss their submissions and help them to understand the process. You will need to have an in-depth understanding of ESG and how it relates to the banking sector, as well as experience managing relationships with senior executives in the financial services sector.
