Energy and Infrastructure Reporter – Singapore or Hong Kong

Location:Singapore or Hong Kong
Salary:S$120-130k or HK$740-840k

This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious financial journalist in Asia to join a growing company, reporting on deal financing opportunities across power, oil & gas, and renewable energy. The role focuses on breaking exclusive news on M&A deals, project finance, and asset sales, as well as tracking executive moves in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) energy and infrastructure market.

As a finance and energy news reporter, you will engage with commercial banks, investment banks, private equity funds, infrastructure funds, law firms, and energy companies across Singapore, Hong Kong, and the wider APAC region. Your stories will uncover companies and funds seeking finance for acquisitions, mergers, asset divestments, and project development.

Unlike aggregated news roles, this position requires source-driven reporting, market intelligence, and deal tracking. You will regularly break news, provide follow-up analysis on evolving deals, and deliver data-rich insights for an investor audience to support decision-making.

This role is ideal for a sociable, proactive journalist who enjoys building networks, developing industry contacts, and breaking market-moving news before competitors. Candidates must have an understanding of deal structuring, project finance, capital raising, and infrastructure investments in Asia.

This is a remote journalist position with the option to use a regional hub in Singapore or Hong Kong, requiring current experience in the Asia-Pacific energy and infrastructure finance market.
