A leading global provider of business intelligence, data, analytics and events for private markets professionals is seeking an experienced financial journalist or editor to join its New York-based editorial team as Regional Editor, Equity – Real Estate.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced financial journalist with a strong track record in original reporting, an established network of senior industry contacts and, ideally, expertise in real estate investment, private equity and the broader private markets sector.
The company publishes a portfolio of specialist publications covering a range of investment verticals. In this role, you will join a talented team of editors and reporters producing breaking news, daily news coverage, original reporting and in-depth analysis for an audience of senior professionals across the global private markets industry.
Key responsibilities
This is a hands-on editorial role combining reporting, editing, commissioning and editorial strategy. Working closely with the Publications Editor, you will help determine the publication’s editorial direction and execute its coverage strategy.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reporting and breaking exclusive news across the global private real estate and investment markets.
- Identifying and covering the most important news, trends, deals, companies and market developments affecting private real estate investors.
- Writing original news stories, analysis, commentary and in-depth features.
- Commissioning articles and working with reporters and contributors to develop high-quality editorial content.
- Editing copy to ensure accuracy, clarity, relevance and strong editorial standards.
- Building and maintaining relationships with senior executives, investors, fund managers, advisers and other key industry contacts.
- Working closely with the Production team on publication design and the presentation of editorial content.
- Contributing to the publication’s overall editorial strategy and coverage priorities.
- Developing and managing thought leadership initiatives, including roundtable discussions and other industry-focused editorial projects.
- Monitoring key events, announcements and developments across the private equity and real estate investment markets to identify opportunities for timely and authoritative coverage.
About you
You will be an experienced financial journalist, editor or business journalist with a strong understanding of financial markets and a proven ability to deliver original reporting.
You should have:
- A strong track record in original financial or business journalism.
- An established network of senior contacts across the real estate investment and private markets industries.
- Excellent writing, editing and interviewing skills.
- The ability to identify compelling stories and turn complex financial and investment developments into clear, engaging editorial content.
- Strong knowledge of real estate investment, private equity, institutional investment or private markets.
- Experience breaking exclusive or original news.
- The ability to work to tight deadlines while maintaining high editorial standards.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience contributing to or shaping an editorial strategy.
- Experience with events, roundtables or thought leadership content would be an advantage.
