About the Role

We are hiring a Primary Credit Reporter to join a leading financial news and data publisher, covering the primary credit markets, with a focus on leveraged bonds and leveraged loans.

In this role, you will report on new debt deals as they come to market, speaking directly with issuers, banks, and investors to break news and provide insight into deal structures, pricing, and market sentiment. You will work closely with a team of experienced financial journalists and credit analysts to deliver timely, in-depth coverage of the leveraged finance market.

Alongside daily deal reporting, you will write analysis and trend pieces exploring investor appetite, innovative deal structures, and broader conditions in the global credit markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report on primary market issuance in leveraged bonds and loans

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with issuers, investors, banks, and market participants

  • Break news on new deals, pricing, structures, and market trends

  • Produce market analysis, commentary, and longer-form features

  • Collaborate with reporters, editors, and analysts across London, Asia, and the US

About You

  • Experience as a finance journalist, business reporter, or credit markets reporter

  • Some understanding of credit markets, debt capital markets, leveraged finance, or fixed income

  • Proven ability to develop and work with industry sources

  • Strong writing skills with attention to accuracy and speed

  • Curiosity, commercial awareness, and a desire to deepen expertise in credit markets

Training will be provided on the technical nuances of leveraged finance for candidates with strong journalism fundamentals.
