Reporting for a major financial publishing company that delivers news on investable situations to a global audience
My client is a major financial publishing company that delivers news on investable situations to a global audience from offices around the world. This role is with one of their most established products and involves covering high yield mid-market finance, which consists mostly of direct lenders – this is a growing market that has boomed in recent years where funds provide financing directly to private equity firms/corporates, disintermediating the banks. This is a source driven role, as most of the deals you will be reporting on are private, so you will need to have experience breaking news from leads sourced from industry/banking contacts you have developed. Some knowledge of the bonds and loans market will be highly desirable but a track record of breaking off diary news is more important. You will be joining a friendly, collaborative team of 8 talented journalists, but the London office is home to a number of other products and boasts a newsroom of nearly 100. So if you are interested in reporting on finance, can get your head round reasonably complex matters and enjoy the challenge of breaking exclusives in a busy newsroom, this job is perfect.
